April 11 M*A*S*H Clinic offers no-cost health services

A free, all-day medical clinic aimed at serving uninsured and low-income residents will return to Eureka Springs for its third year later this month.

The 3rd Annual ECHO M*A*S*H Clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at 4004 E. Van Buren.

M*A*S*H is an acronym for “May All Stay Healthy.”

Organizers say the clinic will again provide a wide range of services at no cost, including medical, dental and optometry care, in an effort to address gaps in access to healthcare for some of the area’s most vulnerable residents.

In addition to those services, Boston Mountain Rural Health Clinic is partnering with ECHO for the event and will offer free X-rays and laboratory work as needed, expanding the level of care available to patients during the one-day clinic.

The clinic is specifically intended for individuals who are uninsured or have low income, a population that organizers say often delays or forgoes necessary medical treatment because of cost concerns.

By bringing multiple types of care together in one setting, the event aims to provide a more comprehensive, “one-stop” approach. Patients will be able to receive routine medical evaluations, dental care and vision services in a single visit, along with diagnostic support such as imaging and lab work when needed.

Organizers are encouraging those interested in attending to call ahead and schedule an appointment as soon as possible, noting that demand for services is expected to be high.

The annual clinic has become a recurring effort by ECHO and its partners to improve access to care in the Eureka Springs area. The M*A*S*H name reflects the group’s mission of promoting community health through direct service and outreach.

The event is part of a broader effort by local organizations and healthcare providers to address barriers to care in rural communities, where access to affordable medical, dental and vision services can be limited.
