Berryville’s brand-new library will open in less than three months.
“The Friends of the Berryville Library are excited to announce that the library will be moving to its new location on 207 South Springfield Street early this summer,” the Friends said in a news release Monday, March 30. “Thanks to generous donations over the last couple of months, the fundraising goal for new furnishings was met. This means the community will be welcomed into a beautifully functional new library on June 20.”
While the Friends will continue to accept donations to help with furnishing the library, the primary fundraising focus has shifted.
“To celebrate the library’s new forever home, the Friends have established the Berryville Library Endowment with the Carroll County Community Foundation,” Monday’s news release said. “Operating and running a much larger building on the same operating budget the library has run its existing space will be a challenge. Donations to the new Berryville Library Endowment will build a forever fund so that the Friends can provide additional support to the library and help maintain the new library’s building and grounds for years to come.”
Thursday, April 9, is NWA Gives Day.
NWA Gives Day is a regional 12-hour giving event from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9. In its ninth year, NWA Gives aims to help the nonprofits in the seven counties of Northwest Arkansas (Benton, Washington, Carroll, Madison, Crawford, Franklin and Sebastian) enhance their fundraising capacity so that they are better equipped to meet the needs of our community. NWA Gives also helps donors find deserving local causes to support and hopes to make Northwest Arkansas one of the most generous communities on earth.
Wednesday, April 1, was the five-year anniversary of the launch of the capital campaign to build a new library for Berryville without using tax revenues and the one-year anniversary of breaking ground on this new library.
“The Friends urge everyone to help celebrate these important milestones on the journey to provide a library facility that can meet the needs of our growing community for generations to come by giving a gift to support the new library in April,” according to the news release.
Gifts to the Berryville Library Endowment can be made at www.arcf.org/berryvillelibrary. Support to the endowment can come in many forms including cash, beneficiary designations, rollovers, real estate, appreciated stocks, or through planned gifts through your will or trusts. If you’re interested in helping sustain the library’s future, while exploring the tax benefits of planned giving, please contact the Carroll County Community Foundation at carrollcounty@arcf.org or by calling 479-315-6425.
Those wanting to support the Friends of the Berryville Library on NWA Gives Day can donate on the NWA Gives online giving platform, nwagives.org. While April 9 is the official day of giving, all gifts made to the Friends at nwagives.org from April 2 to April 9 will be credited as support for NWA Gives 2026.
Tax-deductible donations can also be made directly to the Friends. Checks should be made payable to the Friends of the Berryville Library and can be mailed or dropped off at the library, located at 104 Spring St. in Berryville. Online donations are also accepted at berryvillelibrary.org/building.
To become a Friend of the Berryville Library, individual memberships start at just $10 per year, and forms are available at the library.
