Eureka Springs Blues Party less than a month away

Posted

In less than one month, 5,000 visitors will head to Eureka Springs to enjoy the sound of blues, rock and funk as the Eureka Springs Blues Party returns May 28-31 to more than a dozen clubs and stages with 30-plus performances throughout Eureka Springs. The Eureka Springs Blues Party, known for music that unfolds all around you, hosts national headliners Eric Gales, Orianthi and Dumpstaphunk. But attendees aren’t boxed into traditional festival grounds. Instead, the music is everywhere — much of it free — immersed in a one-of-a-kind downtown filled with shops, restaurants, bars and people living the Free to Be spirit of Eureka Springs.

Basin Spring Park, aka BluesLand, becomes its launching point — and for many, the most welcoming moment of the weekend — with the Ben E. Keith Street Party serving as the perfect place for locals and visitors alike to gather, reconnect and step into the rhythm of Oreo Blue. It’s open, energetic, and unmistakably Eureka Springs.

From there, the music carries into the evening, culminating in a headline performance by Grammy-winning Eric Gales, whose electrifying style sets the tone for what’s to come.

Friday keeps that momentum building with music in BluesLand with young talent from the School of Rock, regional Batterton & Edwards and RD Olsen plus a powerful featured lineup featuring Carolyn Wonderland in the ballroom and electric aficionados Ally Venable and Orianthi on the headline stage.

By Saturday, the festival reaches a meaningful high point. Music is everywhere from the Center Street block party and BluesLand, balconies and clubs throughout the city and hitting a high with the groove-driven energy of Dumpstaphunk, capped with a special celebration honoring the legacy of the Cate Brothers — a tribute played by family and friends that connects the festival’s present to its deep Arkansas roots.

Sunday comes with a full lineup in BluesLand and a special blues brunch at the Crescent Hotel with Brick Fields, celebrating more than 20 years of Eureka Springs blues performances.

But beyond the headliners and music, the true spirit of the Blues Party lies in its format. Unlike traditional festivals held in open fields, this event lives within the fabric of Eureka Springs itself. Historic streets, hillside pathways and iconic venues become stages. Festival-goers move freely between performances, but the experience extends beyond the music. Downtown shops stay open late, galleries welcome visitors between sets, and restaurants — from casual bites to full-service dining — become part of the rhythm of the weekend.

With an established entertainment district, guests can carry that energy from one venue to the next, creating a seamless, all-night flow that defines the Eureka Springs experience.

Fundamental to supporting the whole is continuing to support live music in the Eureka Springs Auditorium and Basin Park Ballroom, where the festival’s marquee headliner shows take place.

Attendees are encouraged to support one or more of these ticketed performances as they anchor the weekend, offering fans the chance to see nationally recognized artists in an intimate, historic setting.
