A local trail advocacy group is inviting the public to take a more active role in maintaining and improving the area’s extensive trail system.
The Carroll County Riders (CC Riders), a local chapter of the Ozark Off-Road Cyclists, will host a community meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the Eureka Springs Community Center. The meeting is designed to bring together residents and trail users around a shared goal of caring for the region’s trails.
While CC Riders has its roots in mountain biking, the group is expanding its mission to include all trail users, including hikers, walkers, runners and families who rely on the trails for recreation.
Organizers say the meeting will highlight areas where local trails need attention, particularly as usage increases during peak seasons. With more than 50 miles of trails in the Eureka Springs area, ongoing maintenance and community involvement are essential to keeping the system in good condition.
“With 50-plus miles of trails in our backyard, we’re incredibly fortunate,” CC Riders leadership said in a statement. “But keeping them in good shape takes ongoing community effort.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about upcoming volunteer service projects and social events, as well as simple ways to get involved regardless of experience level.
The meeting is open to the public, and organizers emphasize that no prior trail work or outdoor experience is required to participate.
For more information, the group encourages residents to follow Carroll County Ozark Off-Road Cyclists on Facebook.
