Katherine Green celebrated her 98th birthday on Friday, April 10. She is one of the remaining members of the Silent Generation. Born in 1928, she survived the loss of her father at the age of 5 and survived the Depression, working from the tender age of 6 years old to help the family delivering groceries and newspapers. She was the first woman mayor of Eureka Springs. She has been a force to be reckoned with every single day of her life and she still is!
