One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting last week in rural Green Forest.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release issued Thursday, March 19, that it received reports of a disturbance in progress with shots fired in the early-morning hours that day.
Deputies responded and found one man dead and a second suffering from a gunshot wound. The news release said the second man’s wound was not life-threatening. Neither man was identified in the news release.
“Investigators with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and have been working throughout the morning and afternoon hours, processing the scene and conducting interviews,” the news release said. “The investigation is still active, and investigators are still working on this case at this hour.”
The news release went on to say that “the individuals responsible are known, the victims and individuals responsible were known to each other, and there is no threat to the community.”
On Monday, March 23, Carroll County Sheriff Daniel Klatt said the investigation remains active and no further information was available at that time.
