Voter information night scheduled Sept. 30

A voter information program Wednesday, Sept. 30, will address how ballots are counted and audited in Carroll County, along with voter registration and November ballot initiatives.

The free, hourlong program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Eureka Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 17 Elk St. in Eureka Springs. Refreshments will be offered before and after the event.

Hunter Rivett, a Carroll County justice of the peace and Berryville High School civics teacher, will speak about voting and civic knowledge. Sharon Spurlin of Braver Angels will discuss working across political differences.

County Election Commission chair Kent Turner will explain ballot counting, audits and challenges.

Representatives of the League of Women Voters of Benton County will offer voter registration assistance and explain how to check registration status. The program also will include information about the November ballot initiatives. Parking is available at the fellowship and on the street, including accessible parking.
