ESHS drama students set to present ‘Wizard of Oz’

Local residents are encouraged to follow the yellow brick road to the Eureka Springs High School Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14, as the ESHS Drama Department presents The Wizard of Oz.

Under the direction of Rick Mann, more than 30 ESHS students will present the Young Performers Edition of the musical, an abbreviated, 90-minute version featuring Emma Hutchins as Dorothy, Hayden Williams as Tin Man, Kat Robinson as Scarecrow, Conner Henson as the Cowardly Lion, Hannah Kelley as Glinda, Jacob Eastburn/Thomas Hayden as The Wizard and Joa Murray as the Wicked Witch.

In addition, the Munchkins, Jitterbugs and Ozonians will put you over the rainbow as they sing and dance their way through the land of Oz, but watch out for the flying monkeys.

Parking and entrance to the ESHS Auditorium is at the Highlander Gym entrance located at 2 Lake Lucerne Road. Friday’s performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and Saturday’s show is set to start at 7 p.m.

Adult admission is $10 and student admission is $5. Eureka Springs School District employees and students are admitted free.

Tickets are available at the gym entrance door or the online store on the Eureka Springs School District website at www.eurekaspringsschools.k12.ar.us.
