It’s 1933 and Grandpa Moss (Andrew Hallam) visits with Martin (Reece Ruhl), one of two drifters who are looking for work during the harvest, as Opera in the Ozarks presents its first performance this season of ‘The Tender Land’ on Saturday, June 24, at Inspiration Point. Grandpa Moss also invites them to come to his granddaughter’s high school graduation party. Laurie is the first member of the family to complete their high school education. In traditional operatic fashion, things take a turn when Martin and Laurie fall in love at first sight and make plans to elope. ‘The Tender Land’ is one of three operas being performed this season at Opera in the Ozarks.
