Nonprofits in Carroll County can go now apply online for Fall Giving Tree Grants through Carroll County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation.
The online application must be submitted by Aug. 15 and can be accessed at www.arcf.org/apply-for-givingtree- grants.
“Since Carroll County Community Foundation began awarding Giving Tree Grants in 2002, more than $505,000 has been granted out to local nonprofits,” said Janell Robertson, executive director. “It is exciting to watch these endowments grow and give back year after year, strengthening this county by supporting important causes like education, health and community development.”
Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000 and requests for all types of grants are considered. First priority is given to organizations based in Carroll County. Nonprofits can go online to view Giving Tree grant submission guidelines and criteria and to begin the application process.
Any IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, public school, government agency or hospital in Carroll County is eligible to apply.
Other applicants may be considered if the project has a clear charitable purpose for the public benefit, but grants are not made to individuals or small businesses. Applications will be reviewed by a committee made up of the Carroll County Community Foundation Board of Directors and local community leaders who are committed to determining the best use of Giving Tree grant funds each year.
“Funding for the Giving Tree program comes from hundreds of Arkansas donors who support the work of the Community Foundation through these local grants,” said Heather Larkin, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. “Giving Tree grants are selected by local people in each of our affiliate areas and awarded to local organizations.”
