Elise Roenigk (left), owner of the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa, receives the President’s Medallion from Dr. Jane Fernandes, president of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 20, in the Crescent’s Crystal Dining Room. The honor was a surprise to Roenigk, who graduated from Antioch in 1964. Elise and her late husband, Marty Roenigk, bought the Crescent in 1997 and worked to restore and preserve the historic hotel along with the 1905 Basin Park Hotel. Elise Roenigk served on the Antioch College Board of Trustees for several years. In 2022, Elise Roenigk received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Historic Hotels of America.
