American Sign Language I (ASL I) classes are being offered in Eureka Springs for those interested in learning the language.
Classes for the eight-week course will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in Eureka Springs and will be taught by Que Thomas.
Que is a Quast (Quality Assurance Screening Test) certified sign language interpreter who has taught sign language for more than 30 years and has previously provided sign language interpretation for universities, churches, medical facilities, tour groups and more. He also taught for one year at the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock.
Que previously taught ASL classes in Eureka Springs before having to take a temporary break while dealing with health issues but is ready to jump back in the saddle and offer classes for those who want to learn a new form of communication while having lots of fun.
There is absolutely no previous experience necessary for this course. Whether you know a few basics or have never used sign language to any degree at all, the course is a beginner’s course and you will find it is very enjoyable and easier to learn than you might think.
Classes are for those over the age of 15. If you are interested in talking ASL I classes, please contact Que Thomas at 479-244-6593 for additional information.
