Nola Marcella Fenix

Nola Marcella Fenix, 87, of Holiday Island, Arkansas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on July 6, 2025. Born on August 27, 1937, in Oak Grove, Arkansas, Nola lived a life rooted in faith, love, and selfless service to others.

A devoted member of the First Christian Church in Eureka Springs, Nola’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She joyfully taught Bible study, shared the gospel with all she met, and led many to Christ through her words and actions. Her life was a testimony to grace, kindness, and unwavering compassion.

Nola loved being in nature – feeding local wildlife near her home and spending time outdoors, especially during camping trips to the mountains of Colorado. She found joy in the simple things: baking for others, giving care without being asked, and ensuring every grandchild left her home with a lovingly prepared goodie bag.

She also had a soft spot for classic Westerns, especially Cheyenne and Gunsmoke, which reminded her of a simpler time. With a nurturing heart, she was always making sure others were alright, never hesitating to put others before herself.

Nola is survived by her beloved son, Jackson Fenix; her niece, Starla Godsey; grandchildren, Heather Thomas, Tonya Nance, Spencer Washburn, Keith Lawson, and Cody Lawson; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love and faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Grace (Standlee) Downs.

Nola will be deeply missed by all who knew her and remembered for her generous spirit, joyful presence, and unwavering devotion to her family and her Lord.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 14th, 2025, at Nelson Church of the Springs with Pastor Mark Galloway officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road Springdale, AR 72762. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com
