Williams seeking third term as county treasurer

Carroll County Treasurer Makita Williams has officially announced the launch of a campaign for a third term in office. “With a proven record of fiscal responsibility, transparency, and innovation, Williams is seeking re-election to continue serving the residents of Carroll County,” says a news release announcing Williams’ campaign. “It has been my honor to serve the people of Carroll County, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made in making our treasurer’s office more efficient, accessible, and accountable,” Williams said in the news release. “There is still work to be done, and I look forward to building on our momentum in a third term.”

Since first taking office in 2019, Williams has improved public transparency with regular financial reports and community engagement. As well as delivering balanced budgets and clean audits, year after year, the news release says.

“With deep roots in the community, Williams has earned a reputation for integrity and service. The campaign will focus on continuing sound financial stewardship and supporting growth for Carroll County,” the news release says.
