The Museum of Eureka Springs Art, in partnership with Clear Spring School and The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow, invites the public to “Art and Poetry in Eureka Springs” from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.12.
The event celebrates ekphrastic poetry— writing inspired by visual art—and explores how stories can emerge from both image and imagination. Guided by visiting Poet Laureate Susan Powers of Scotland, Conn., Clear Spring School students have created original poems responding to works from the museum’s collection.
“This project gives young writers an opportunity to reflect on the multiple stories suggested by any work of art,” Powers said. “In addition, they will discover their own stories as they are inspired by another artist’s vision.”
These poems will be displayed alongside the corresponding artworks and shared aloud during the program. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and view the gallery from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m., followed by brief remarks and student readings.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Museum of Eureka Springs Art at museumofeurekaspringsart@ outlook.com or visit museumofeurekaspringsart. net.
