Authorities seek man for questioning in ramming of GF police car

Carroll County authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man for questioning after an incident in which a suspect allegedly rammed a Green Forest police car three times during a pursuit over the weekend.

According to a news release issued Wednesday, Nov. 5, by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Green Forest Police Department Officer Thomas Blewett attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2011 White Ford Expedition on Sunday, Nov. 2, in the area of County Road 802 and North Carroll Avenue in Green Forest.

The suspect fled and a pursuit ensued, according to the news release. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle would stop, put the vehicle in reverse and strike the front of Blewett’s patrol unit, the news release said. When the vehicle stopped the second time, Blewett exited his vehicle with his weapon drawn and took a cover position behind the driver door, the news release said. The suspect vehicle accelerated in reverse toward Blewett striking his patrol unit before Blewett discharged his service weapon twice with one round striking the rear of the vehicle, according to the news release. The vehicle then continued to flee, and the suspect rammed Blewett’s patrol vehicle a third time before the pursuit ended at a residence on County Road 844 after the vehicle struck a pipe fence, the news release said. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The Green Forest Police Department requested the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident. The vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was later conducted. Several items of evidence were collected and will be processed. Once the case is completed, it will be turned over to the prosecutor’s office for review.

The sheriff’s office released a photo of Brennan Badley, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident. According to the news release, Badley also has several pending felony and misdemeanor warrants from multiple law enforcement agencies. The sheriff’s office also released photos of a white Ford Expedition, which the news release described as belonging to the suspect, and the damage to the Green Forest patrol unit.

Anyone with information about Badley or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Carroll County Sheriffs Office at 870-423-7373. Callers can remain anonymous.
