The party filing period for the March 2026 preferential primary, nonpartisan judicial and school board elections began Monday, Nov. 3, and will continue through Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Several incumbent Carroll County officials officially filed as candidates for re-election on the first three days of the filing period.
They included County Clerk Connie Doss, Circuit Clerk Sara Huffman, Sheriff Daniel Klatt, County Collector Krista Burnett and County Treasurer Makita Williams, all Republicans. As of Wednesday, Nov. 5, no challengers had filed for those offices.
Republican Dianna Baird filed as a candidate for county judge, while Brittany Blok filed as a Republican candidate for county assessor.
District 3 Justice of the Peace Harrie Farrow, District 6 JP Craig Hicks and District 7 JP Kellie Matt all filed as candidates for re-election to the Carroll County Quorum Court. Farrow is a Democrat, while Hicks and Matt are Republicans.
Sharon Lawlor filed as a candidate for District 1 JP, while Chris Clifton filed to seek the District 2 seat on the quorum court. Both are Republicans.
Three Republicans filed as candidates for District 4 JP: Duane Coatney, Luke Dignan and Eric Griesenauer.
Republican Chris Newboles filed to seek the District 9 seat on the quorum court, while Susy Stinebricker filed as a Republican candidate for District 11 JP.
Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Rogers filed as a candidate for re-election, with Robert “Beau” Allen filing as a challenger to Rogers.
Carroll County Circuit Judge Scott Jackson also filed as a candidate for re-election.
Todd Summers filed as a candidate for re-election as Central Township constable.
Bobby Ballinger filed as a Republican candidate for the District 28 seat in the state Senate, while Steven Baird, Hunter Rivett and Cody Rogers filed as Republicans seeking the District 6 seat in the state House of Representatives. State Rep. James Eaton filed to seek re-election to the District 26 seat in the state House. Eaton is a Republican.
