Help Scouts help Flint Street

To the Editor: We all know grocery prices are going up, and many local families are struggling. At Flint Street, we’re seeing this firsthand, as more and more of our neighbors walk through our doors each week. Just since the first of 2025, we’ve provided food assistance to 545 households in Eureka Springs and Carroll County, The Scouts of Troop 67 are once again conducting their annual Scouting for Food Drive. This food drive is so important to us at Flint Street as it usually gathers enough non-perishable items to keep our shelves stocked through the winter, but we are expecting a much greater need in the coming months, and we need your donations more than ever this year.

You should have received bags, so please contribute and place your bags out for the Scouts to pick up on Saturday, Nov. 8. If you were missed, we can always accept donations during our business hours at the pantry, Monday and Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there are donation boxes for Flint Street at local grocery stores.

We salute the Scouts of Troop 67 for this annual effort to help our food bank survive.

Flint Street is not going away, but we need your help more than ever this year, — Rick DeLaney President, Flint Street Fellowship
