Carroll County Judge David Writer has announced his candidacy for re-election.

“I am pleased to announce that I will be seeking re-election as your Carroll County Judge,” Writer said in a news release. “Over the past three years it has been an honor to serve the people of Carroll County. Thus far in my first term, I have successfully renegotiated contracts that have saved the taxpayers of Carroll County hundreds of thousands of dollars. The most notable of these negotiations being a total of $275,000 saved on health benefits for county employees without affecting their quality of coverage nor increasing outof- pocket costs. There are also multiple cost-saving efforts currently in negotiation.

“In 2022 I campaigned on promoting efficiency, and improving working relationships between County Offices. I am pleased to report that this is exactly what WE have accomplished. We are blessed to have a county government that works so well together for the betterment of its citizens.

“While we have been successful in reducing waste, and cutting expenditures, I am not content to stop. There is still work to be done, and I will continue working hard for the citizens of Carroll County. I humbly ask for your continued support and your vote as we look toward the Republican Primary on March 3, 2026.”
