The new library building going up at 207 S. Springfield St. in Berryville is truly a labor of love.
With no local tax money available to support construction, it was only with overwhelming support from many individuals, families and businesses in the community that the Friends of the Berryville Library, Inc. were able to raise enough to construct the new building. The push is now on to raise the remaining $300,000 needed to furnish the building.
The new Berryville Library will have more than three times the space of the current building. There will be dedicated areas for children and teens. There will be a meeting room, a larger flexible multi-use space, and two private study rooms. There will be increased seating areas both inside and out. To maximize how all this extra space can be used to benefit all in the community, the library needs to be able to purchase new furnishings.
Orders for new furniture need to be placed soon so time is running out to be part of this unprecedented effort to build a library that will serve the community for generations to come. You can stick your name on this campaign by making a gift of $100, $250, or $451 to honor or memorialize a loved one inside a book of your choice. You can add your or your family’s name to the Donor Wall, a permanent tribute to all those who helped make this new library a reality, with a gift of $1,000 or more. A limited number of additional naming opportunities remain for gifts of $10,000 or more. All gifts are tax-deductible, and no gift is too big or too small.
All gifts must be received or pledged by Jan. 31, 2026, to be recognized on the Donor Wall. For more information about remaining naming opportunities or other ways you can help this effort, call Kristy at 870-654-6565.
Donations can be dropped off at the Berryville Library located at 104 Spring St. or made online at berryvillelibrary. org/building.
