The Eureka Springs Police Department is again teaming up with the city’s public works to help ensure a safe experience for attendees at two upcoming parades downtown.
The police department has announced that after a positive experience clearing downtown parking off Spring Street for the Zombie Crawl parade held in October, the same policy will be in effect at two upcoming events.
“… Thank you for your support recently when we decided to prohibit parking and clear Spring St. for the Zombie Crawl parade, in order to create a safer viewing area for our youngest parade enthusiasts,” the police department wrote in a letter to Spring Street merchants posted on Facebook. “We found that by extending the view zone into the parking areas, everyone had more space to spread out and enjoy the parade, and the barricades provided a safe area for the children to watch the parade from.”
The same policy will be used on Friday, Dec. 5, for the annual Christmas parade and on Saturday, Dec. 20, for the Jinglin’ Jeep Parade, according to the police department.
“We are asking for your cooperation in clearing all vehicles from parking spaces along Spring Street — between Spring & Main and Spring & Mountain Streets — by 3 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025,” the letter to merchants reads. “This will allow us to secure the area properly and maintain a safe route for the parade.
“We appreciate your continued support and partnership in helping us keep Eureka Springs a safe and welcoming place for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (479) 253-8666.”
