ESSA selected to receive $5K grant

The Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) has been selected to receive a $5,000 Community Investment Grant from Cox Charities. The grant is funded entirely through voluntary contributions made by Cox Arkansas employees from their monthly paychecks.

This award will support ESSA’s Veterans Program by providing funding for instructors, staff support and materials. ESSA offers free hands-on art workshops for veterans throughout the year in partnership with the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, as well as a Veterans Appreciation Day each November featuring a full day of free workshops.

“Knowing that Cox employees personally support this fund through their own paychecks makes this a very special award for us,” said Kelly McDonough, executive director of the Eureka Springs School of the Arts. “We look forward to sharing this generosity with our veteran community in the months and years to come.”

In addition to its free veterans workshops, ESSA also offers a veterans scholarship program. This program is funded primarily through donations to the Jim McCoy Veterans Fund as part of ESSA’s annual End-of-Year Scholarship Fundraising Drive.
