Historical Museum announces scholarship funded by Freund Endowment

The Eureka Springs Historical Museum has announced a new student scholarship funded by the Louis and Elsie Freund Endowment for Young Artists, with the intent of providing a graduating high school student with financial assistance to further their education in art.

This opportunity is open to graduating seniors from Eureka Springs High School, Clear Spring School, or a local homeschooled senior with plans to achieve a degree in the arts.

In accordance with the wishes of famed Eureka Springs artists Louis and Elsie Freund, who were largely responsible for establishing the artist community and arts economy in Eureka Springs, the Eureka Springs Historical Museum shall award a one-year $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior in Eureka Springs for 2026.

Completed applications must be submitted with all supporting documentation and photos of student art by Friday, April 10. Applicants shall also receive the opportunity to participate in a student art exhibition displayed at the museum during May.
