Photo courtesy of Eureka Springs School District Bruce Wright of American Legion Post 9 in Eureka Springs raises the United States flag during a ceremony dedicating a new flagpole on Thursday, Sept. 11, at Eureka Springs Middle School. The flagpole project was initiated by ESMS teacher Cody Taylor, sponsored by WoodmenLife and brought to life by Eureka Springs SkillsUSA students and the school maintenance department. The ceremony included a moment of silence for those who lost their lives on 9/11. The school band performed the Star-Spangled Banner and a poem was read before the flag was proudly raised for the first time.
