Dear Editor, I’ve been reading the news lately regarding the Eureka Springs Hospital (some good, some bad) but I felt it was important to write this letter on my recent and unexpected visit to the hospital.
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, I was experiencing some medical issues and my son insisted that we go into the Emergency Room knowing that my doctor or clinic were not available on a Sunday afternoon.
Slightly apprehensive and a bit anxious, I could feel my blood pressure telling me I needed to go regardless of my uncertainty of the ER.
When I entered, I was greeted by a team of highly qualified professionals who genuinely cared for my concerns and this happened at a shift change where in most other circumstances, the staff would be eager to leave.
Not here! The RN, the nurses (Patrick and Justin), Dr. Powell MD on duty, and Bobbie, my 2nd shift nurse all gave me comfort while they ran my blood test, EKG, and CT scan.
When all the results were in, it was relieving to learn that there were no critical indicators, but part of this relief was knowing I had a great team of medical professionals who were providing me with care prior to me being released just a few hours later.
I understand the E.S. Hospital has been through a lot the past few years, but it appears the new administration with a new CEO, have put in place a new initiative and commitment for Patient care.
Most people are reluctant to go to the ER for obvious reasons but, if you had to, I trust and support the team at ES Hospital.
We should be so fortunate to have this little hospital in our community with a heart-felt competent staff.
Thank you, ES Hospital, for taking care of me.

Longtime Eureka Springs resident.
