Winter is just around the corner, and we’ll soon be cranking up the heaters to keep the historic 1889 Calif House warm and cozy. In addition to maintaining a comfortable temperature for our patrons and staff, the Eureka Springs Historical Museum aims to keep our temperature and humidity levels as stable as possible for the preservation of the priceless historic objects, images, and documents in our collections. This is no small feat in a 136-year-old structure!
Thanks to a generous grant from the Division of Arkansas Heritage, we have installed brand new humidifiers that will help us to keep our relative humidity from dropping below 30 percent during these excessive winter heater loads. This project was made possible in part by a grant from the Division of Arkansas Heritage, funded by your 1/8 cent conservation tax, Amendment 75.
