The Arkansas State Senate Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the Berryville Community Center.
The main topic of discussion will be an interim study of healthy rivers and streams proposed by state Sen. Bryan King of Green Forest.
“In the last 2 years I’ve held several river and stream meetings with very diverse groups,” King said in a news release announcing the committee meeting. “We have had some great discussion on issues with our rivers and streams.
“What I am most proud of is that even with a diverse participation all meetings have been civil and productive,” King said. “I had meetings in all six of the counties in my district. All were well attended and included fishermen, outfitters, watershed groups, farmers, ranchers and recreational enthusiasts.”
King said his proposal would direct $25 million for a study of rivers and streams.
