Letter to the Editor: I have been a Eureka Springs Hospital commissioner for the last several months. When meeting people in the community many have talked about a past experience that was not always positive. I have read many articles about the problems with care and staff. My response has been that things have changed for the better. The great clinical staff is highly qualified and experienced. The current administration has been working hard to turn things around, and I tell them that I would not hesitate to seek care at the hospital; in fact, it would be my first choice in an emergency.

Dearest Readers, The events of last night’s City Council meeting were not merely recounted to me through hushed whispers; no, dear readers, I was present, a witness to the unfolding drama, and indeed, a participant in its more… unrefined moments.

Dearest readers, as our enduring mayor reveals that the city now finds itself entangled in yet another legal web – this time with former hospital employees – one cannot help but turn a most inquisitive eye toward those who remain.

Dear Editor, I would like to extend our towns heartfelt gratitude

Once again the people of the Eureka area have shown their generosity

“I believe passing the petition to get the question on the ballot… At long last the commission will put more information out to the public. Get my drift. I’m not sure there will be enough signatures to place on the ballot…” So goes part of a text message sent to me from a signature collector of the petition to abolish the City Advertising and Promotion Commission (CAPC), also known as Local Issue #3.

Once again area scouts, along with some help from other community minded groups, are gathering and getting ready for this years “Scouting for Food” drive. Every year the local Scouts help their community in a big way, and also learn firsthand about the values of giving, sharing and community spirit.
