JPs approve tax rebates for Messer

The Carroll County Quorum Court approved a resolution at its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 17, to allow Messer LLC to participate in the Tax Back program, part of an investment incentive package offered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission to help attract new businesses to the state.

Senior Center Menus

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. Please arrive earlier than noon for lunch. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is an $8 charge for those under 60 and $8.50 all carryout meals. Menus are subject to change.

Giving Tree Grant boosts museum’s archival capabilities

The Eureka Springs Historical Museum is putting the finishing touches on a new on-site archival storage space for their collection of framed art — one with better climate control and less UV light intrusion that also adheres more closely to current museum industry standards. It’s been a long and tedious process, sorting and preparing the many works of art for the relocation, but museum staff say they are thrilled to be making progress with their conservation efforts. It is a project that will benefit visitors of the museum for generations to come, even if they never see it.
