Eureka Springs Hospital appears to be close to having a new CEO.

While the hiring of a new chief executive offer at Eureka Springs Hospital seems to be closer to reality, members of the hospital commission gave positive feedback to a proposal from local physician Dr. John House to take over operation of the facility.

The Carroll County Quorum Court approved the second reading of a proposed ordinance that would impose a moratorium on future industrial wind and solar energy projects in the county at its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 15, but that did little to ease the tension that has become a nearly constant element at the court’s meetings for the past two years.

Students in the Eureka Springs School District will be working to “feed” the “monster” later this month during state-mandated ATLAS testing.

Sandy Martin, chair of the Eureka Springs Hospital Commission, is scheduled to meet privately with a representative of the Mercy healthcare system to discuss a potential proposal for Mercy to take over management of Eureka Springs Hospital.
