Scout Clean Energy hosted the first of two planned open-house events on Tuesday, April 11, at the Berryville Community Center to address residents’ concerns over the company’s planned wind-turbine development near Green Forest. Scout, based in Boulder, Colo., plans for its “Nimbus” project to expand over approximately 9,000 acres — about 14 square miles — in Carroll County, much of it along County Road 905 southeast of Green Forest.
The Eureka Springs School Board approved a LEARNS Act-influenced salary schedule at its regular meeting Monday, April 10. Superintendent Bryan Pruitt said the schedule will be frozen for now while the district adjusts to the mandated $50,000 starting salary for teachers.
The art program at Eureka Springs High School has been a part of Jessica Cummings’ family for nearly 40 years. So, it was big news when Cummings, who has led the program at her alma mater since 2008, announced she was stepping away from the classroom at the end of this school year to focus on her private business.
Eureka Springs High School held its 2023 Prom on Saturday night, April 15, at the Crescent Hotel. Eureka Springs Times-Echo The Eureka Springs Planning Commission revoked a Conditional Use Permit of a tourist lodging location, saying the property had multiple violations. The commission voted 3-2 at its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 11, to revoke the permit at 17 Breezy Point owned by Cecilia Athey.
