Will she or won’t she? That will be the question for the Eureka Springs City Council for the next handful of days.
At its regular meeting held Monday, July 28, the council voted to hold yet another workshop with members of the city’s hospital commission to discuss lingering financial questions. This time, however, the council is requesting that Cynthia Asbury, the hospital’s chief financial officer, participate in the workshop and answer specific questions from council members.

Childhood Activity Grant
Eureka Springs Elementary School has been awarded a $5,000 Childhood Activity Grant from the Carroll County Community Foundation. This grant is focused on increasing physical activity and fighting childhood obesity. With the funds, Eureka Springs Elementary School is purchasing an interactive wall and floor display system that combines learning with movement. Students will be able to play more than 200 active games that blend academics and physical activity — think practicing multiplication facts while running across the floor, learning science vocabulary by jumping to the right answer, playing virtual soccer, or even exploring music by stepping on a giant piano!
