Childhood Activity Grant

Eureka Springs Elementary School has been awarded a $5,000 Childhood Activity Grant from the Carroll County Community Foundation. This grant is focused on increasing physical activity and fighting childhood obesity. With the funds, Eureka Springs Elementary School is purchasing an interactive wall and floor display system that combines learning with movement. Students will be able to play more than 200 active games that blend academics and physical activity — think practicing multiplication facts while running across the floor, learning science vocabulary by jumping to the right answer, playing virtual soccer, or even exploring music by stepping on a giant piano! Pictured from left to right are Janell Robertson, executive director of the Carroll County Community Foundation; Rachal Hyatt, director of programs for Eureka Springs Schools; and Joe Scott, chair of the community foundation board of directors.
