Four applicants — David Riordan, Susane Gruning, Michael Welch and Marticia Hancock — will be voted on to fill the Ward 1, Position 2 seat formerly held by David Avanzino. For the Ward 2, Position 1 seat formerly held by Melissa Greene, Avanzino and Anna Smedley have applied.
The Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a fatal shooting involving a Eureka Springs police officer. According to an ASP news release, dispatchers with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call on Friday, March 1, from the Rowdy Beaver Den at 47 Spring St.
The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Menus are subject to change.
