A proposed gun and pawn shop planned for Eureka Springs didn’t get enough votes from the city’s planning commission to receive the needed Conditional Use Permit, but an appeal of the decision is expected.

Two Highlanders named to All-State team The Eureka Springs Highlanders, who reached the Class 3A state tournament, had two players on the boys all-state soccer team: senior Leo Alpizar Garcia and his younger brother, junior Jose Alpizar Garcia. Local students make Dean’s List at NAC Leonardo Alpizar Garcia, Jose Alpizar, Henry Farrar, Melissa Galyen, Sarah McHattie and Eliza Parkman, all of Eureka Springs, have been named to the Dean’s List for part-time students for the spring 2023 semester at North Arkansas College in Harrison.
