Eureka Springs brought home not one, but two, state chess championships over the weekend, winning both the junior high and high school state tournaments. High school team members are William Vaverka, Sonny Thao, Draven Cummings and Bonus Shock. Junior high team members are Cael Dempsie, Christian Thao, Chase Abendroth, Madeline Walden and Cooper Eichor. The teams are coached by Jerry Wells and Arron Oliver.
