Jose Galindo

Jose Galindo of Holiday Island, Arkansas was born October 29, 1942 in Carson City, Michigan to Emilio and Guadalupe (Trevino) Galindo. Jose passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 80.

Jose was an awesome golfer, making a hole in one at the Holiday Island golf course on hole #17 in 2002. He also loved to fish, bowl and play pool.

Jose is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Mary (Ratliff-Ambrose) Galindo. They were married on May 16, 2015 – they were married for 8 years but together for 17 years. It was never quite at home as he was a jokester and had an amazing smile. He loved his animals, Mexie the dog, along with Flea and Baby the two cats.

Jose is also survived by his sister, Rachel Navarro of Michigan; daughters, Lisa Galindo, Anne Marie (Steve) Demeter, and Tina Galindo; and son, Antonio aka Tony (Justine) Galindo, all of Michigan, extended family John Carl (Michelle) Ambrose and Ryan (Mary) Ambrose of Texas.

Between Jose and Mary they have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson living in Michigan and Texas and are very proud of all of them, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Guadalupe Galindo; son, Jose Galindo; brother, Elias and wife Jeannie Galindo; sister, Esther and husband Lefty Navarro; brothers-inlaw, Raymond Navarro and Thomas Marler; in-laws, John and Elizabeth Ratliff; and nephew, Dalton Johnson.

There will be two memorial services. The first at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Barn at Holiday Island, Arkansas. Please wear bright colors in honor of Jose. The service in Michigan will be held at a later date.
