The start of the volleyball season has been a bit up and down for the Eureka Springs Lady Highlanders. “We’re kind of rocky right now … trying to figure each other out,” coach James McVay said after the team’s first two games, losses to Thaden and Mulberry.

The Eureka Springs Youth Soccer Club will hold fall season registration from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, and Wednesday, Aug. 31; and from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 3.

Emma Gilmore hadn’t had a swimming lesson before competing in her first swim meet as an 8-year-old. Now, at 15, she’s showcasing her skills at a national level.
