ONGOING Library seeking book donations In preparation for its fall book sale, the Friends of the Eureka Springs Carnegie Library is asking for people to donate their gently used books. Donations can be brought to the library annex media center during library operating hours.

Safety Baby Shower slated Sept. 27

New and expectant mothers will have an opportunity to get some valuable education — along with some useful items for their new baby — at an upcoming event at the Berryville Community Center. The Carroll County Hometown Health Coalition is putting together a Safety Baby Shower to be held from 11 a.m.

First priority will be given to organizations providing a public service, such as rural fire departments, schools, churches, hospital auxiliaries and services for senior citizens or veterans. Submissions should be timely. Calendar listings should not be more than 30 days in advance of the event. The calendar is sometimes edited to fit the available space in the print edition. Women’s Bible study scheduled

“What the Women Saw,” written by Sadie Robertson Huff and friends, explores the lives, faith and failures of certain women Jesus interacted with and will be discussed during six weekly sessions beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at First Christian Church, 763 Passion Play Road in Eureka Springs.
