Dear Editor, Back in the 1990s when I had the privilege of serving as Carroll County Judge and Tony Rogers was the Public Defender, I was impressed with his work ethic and desire to provide the best possible defense (including going to trial) for those needing his services. For the citizens of Carroll County to be confident in the local legal system it is essential that we have both a public defender and a prosecutor that are experienced, have in-depth knowledge of the law and (are) willing to work long and hard to ensure justice is served.
Carroll County needs defenders and prosecutors who have a strong work ethic and want our legal system to work as it should. I know from following Tony Rogers’ career that he has served us well and I am confident he will continue to do so. I will be encouraging citizens to review both Mr. Rogers’ and Mr. Allen’s professional history and then vote to re-elect Tony Rogers as our prosecutor. Carroll County should not become a training ground for a prosecuting attorney.
